We keep looking for challenges and resources to make this world a better place to live in. The following new Projects have been initiated and need help to move ahead:
We’ve done a lot of brain storming before choosing the subject and naming this project of ours. The underlying philosophy was to do basic management in the society to make life easier with a very humane approach towards of species too.
All across India, we’ve seen three species of mammals, which are disowned by the homo-sapience, namely CO – cow (BosIndicus), MON – monkey (Rhesus macaque) & DO – dogs (Canis lupus familiaris), namely COMONDO. To the society at large, the perception is – that these three animals are useless, can’t contribute to the society and are utter wastage. In spite of the fact that;
Dog is considered to be Man’s best friend since ages.
Indian history has depicted many wonderful accomplishments of the monkey army during Ram-Ravan war, one of the still surviving structures being the bridge between India & Sri Lanka even visible from space.
And finally Cow – which was once having a stature of mother in Indian society. The Holy Cow. Today, even the mother is milked till it is possible and then abandoned.
The poor condition of these three species, which had a respectable position in the Indian society at one point in time, is not just a pity for them, but for the society as well. The value system is abolished today.
The purposeful sabotage of the Indian education and value system, done by the British government post 1857, has now reached the pinnacle. That’s why, today the ministry of social justice has to come with a campaign that – “taking care your old age parents, to whom you are a legal heir, is not just your responsibility, but their legal right too. A non-compliance to this is a legal offence.” That’s the state of our society today.
But our idea is to restore. Channelize the energy in the right direction. Set the axis right and change the dynamics. We have a huge plan for restoration and we urge help from all sections of society.
Let’s start with the Man’s best friend – DOG.
We see dogs all around, near the wastage bins, near trash, below the car, in the parking lot, but no one is ready to take the ownership of these stray dogs. In spite of the fact that 40% of India falls in the dog-lover category, and more than 2.3 million have supported the cause of people against animal cruelty and got associated with agencies like PETA, PFA, PAWS, Redpaws etc. People give biscuits, breads, milk etc. to these dogs, but no one wants to take them home. The question is : WHY?
If you love them, feed them, care for them, then what’s the issue? And the simple answer is – that not every one could be a dog trainer. People feel that medication is a costly affair. People are scared for their kids and elderly parents.
Now lets looks into some finer details;
As a common man, we’ve heard a lot about a lot of diseases across the country, many people have it and many we see in the advertisements. For example – AIDS (the most advertised one), diabetes, common cold, bird flu, swine flu, and many more. Then we have some of the Government sponsored eradication programs like – Polio drops, Tuberculosis DOTS treatment, Diarrhea treatment for ORS, malaria, chickengunia, japanese encephalitis, dengue and so on. Some of them are also popularized by various medicine companies like one of the recent ones Rotavirus.
But, what we usually forget about, are some of the silent killer right under our nose. What we mean is – one of the most common diseases spread across India called “anemia”.
Now, most of the people would like to differ on this, as it is perceived to be just a nutritional deficiency and not a fatal disease. What people forget to note is the number of people getting affected and number of deaths happening due to this. For example;
An NCBI report says, anemia prevalence in young children continues to remain over 70% in most parts of India and Asia despite a policy being in place and a program that has been initiated for a long time. The irreparable damage that anemia in childhood can cause particularly to the development of a young child on one hand and the knowledge and mechanism available for its control on the other, makes this silent morbidity completely unacceptable in modern times.
The bigger problem is, that the people who suffer, are neither aware of it, nor they can afford the remedy. It is largely the remote rural India, wherein the health facilities are inadequate and the general public awareness in this regards is negligent. Over and above all this, the income is so low that they can’t afford a medication for this as well.
The above-mentioned alarming data has forced us to think and act upon this @ TatavGyan Humanity Foundation.
Making a hospital in so many remote villages isn’t feasible, as we have limited resources and there’s a huge population, which needs attention. Thus we’ve thought of the concept of “Mypolyclinic”.
Mypolyclinic – is a concept of having a fully equipped mobile vehicle with pre-installed basic medical equipments enabling it to be capable enough of taking care of the primary health check up, diagnosis and carrying out the first aid kind of small surgeries too. A qualified Doctor, Pathologist, nursing assistant and a compounder can travel in the same vehicle and attend to the patient for one whole day.
Mypolyclinic shall travel to one village each day, for six days a week and the same schedule shall be repeated every week, four times a month. In one day, average of 20 patients shall be attended and keeping the same pace, 20 x 6 x 4 = 480 patients could be attended to, in just one month. And if the same is maintained for a year, we’ll be able to take care of 5000 + Patients. Though in a population like India, that is too small a figure, but is good enough for us to begin with.
And not just that, this will even lower the infant mortality rate, and the same facility can even help pregnant ladies for various nutritional benefits and up keeping of the health of the mother & the child.
We’ve planned to start the project from Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, as we’ve got voluntary support from kind-hearted doctors and medical professionals from the city.
